About Ramjas....

Ramjas Founder

The school owes its inception to the profound vision of its founder Shri Rai Kedarnathji. He was the driving spirit and the guiding light behind the establishment of the Ramjas Foundation, one of the oldest Educational Trusts in Delhi. Rai Kedarnathji retired from service as a Session Judge. He was very concerned at the lack of modern educational facilities for the children of Delhi. He firmly believed that only by setting up schools could the darkness of ignorance be banished.

With all that he possessed at the time of his retirement, he founded the first Ramjas School in the sacred memory of his father, Lala Ramjas Mal. The seed of education that he sowed more than nine decades ago, has grown into a huge banyan tree today. A Trust running one school during his lifetime, today it runs 17 schools and one college in Delhi . There is also a Ramjas Sports and Mountaineering Institute located in a sprawling ground in West Patel Nagar in the heart of the city.

Rai Kedarnathji was a man of sterling qualities. He believed in action. He was an epitome of renunciation and altruism. His dedication, spirit of service, irrepressible zeal were hard to emulate. They are however qualities that inspired members of the Ramjas family.

In his contribution to the cause of education, Rai Kedarnathji is often compared to and equated with Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya. He always said that the lamp could never light another lamp unless its own flame continued to burn. This has remained the guiding principle for the Ramjas Foundation ever since.

We fervently dedicate ourselves to his lofty ideals and pledge ourselves to keep the Torch of Learning that was lit by him burning ever bright.
